When I have read the title it seemed to me very intriguing. Firstly, I thought about something happy. But the story itself is sad. It is about poor Miss Leeson who has no job, no money and is suffering from debility induced by starvation. I feel sorry with this miss. But the end of the story promised the readers that miss Leeson would be treated as soon as possible and it gives the chance to continue the story and finish it with happy end. So, it is an interesting story and it worths attention.
I have read several stories by O. Henry and I really enjoy it. But I've never read "The Skylight Room", it's also about poor life of a person like of the characters of "The Gift of the Magi", maybe these two stories have something in common and I want to read it in the nearest future. Wish you a lot of positive emotions and pleasure analyzing this story! =)
ВідповістиВидалитиI'm sure, this story is rather interesting, like other O. Henry' s works. He creates wonderful plots. All the stories are rather easy to understand, giving at the same time food for thought. His works often deal with some social problems and they can involve the reader from the first line. Good luck!
